Social media influencer and chef Yumna Jawad shared this quick and easy pasta dish with her two million followers over at FeelGoodFoodie and it’s one you are going to want to add to your kitchen recipe box STAT. It comes together in the time it takes to boil the water and cook the pasta—and the oven does the rest of the work for you.
How Do You Make Baked Feta Pasta?
This recipe starts with tossing a whole lot of cherry tomatoes with olive oil, salt and pepper in an oven-safe baking dish. Now make room in the center of the dish for a block of feta cheese and turn it over once or twice to coat with the olive oil as well. Place it in the oven and have some chopped garlic and basil ready to add when this dish comes out of the oven.
Cooking with Cherry Tomatoes
Cherry tomatoes, also called grape tomatoes, are tasty additions to salads, but wait until you see what they do when they are cooked. The heat of the oven causes the tomatoes to blister and burst open with their juices as the block of feta is softening and melting into the tomato juices. When the tomato and feta dish is done, pull it from the oven and stir in garlic and basil. Add your cooked pasta on top and continue to stir until the pasta is evenly coated. That’s it! This ten-minute version will give you the same results of mixing bursting tomato juices and creamy feta with pasta.
Can I Use Another Cheese Besides Feta?
Yumna does give her followers another version of this combination of ingredients where she swaps out the feta cheese for goat cheese. She also adds a little honey before the cooking time and finishes with a bit of pesto before tossing with the pasta. YUM.
